What changed for them

Teams I've trained, what we did together, and what changed for them.

Teams trained at Dorset Council, BCP Council, CHIRP, ASG, cyberISMS, tlmNEXUS, Defence BattleLab, the Royal Naval Association and dozens of SMEs and charities.

Featured case study · ASG and cyberISMS

Two working agents by mid-afternoon. A team that now talks about how it works.

The problem
ASG delivers drone services, training and consultancy across defence, law enforcement and other regulated environments. cyberISMS runs managed IT, cyber security and compliance. Neither can afford to experiment freely with AI.
On the day
A hands-on day for six of the team, on their own tasks, with the governance their work demands. Afterwards, a private debrief site with every question answered and a plan for 30 days to 24 months.
What they built
Two working agents by mid-afternoon: a six-step proposal workflow with checks built in, and a policy agent that reviews by exception. It flagged real legal changes on its very first run.
Since then
In the client's words: quicker, better-quality outputs, improved consistency and useful challenge, and a “measured but very noticeable” increase in AI use across bid reviews, financial forecasting and marketing planning.
Not measured yet
Time saved, cost or financial return. It's early days, and figures will only go here once they've been measured.

Thank you again for your time. It's been hugely beneficial to my AI use going forward.

Safety charity · CHIRP Maritime

15 to 20 minutes saved per safety report

Who
CHIRP, the independent charity that runs confidential safety reporting for mariners and aviators.
The problem
A two-person team reading long narrative reports and coding the human factors behind each one.
What we did
Built a ChatGPT-based assistant around the SHIELD human factors taxonomy to help analyse reports, not to replace the analysts, and trained the team to use it.
The outcome
15 to 20 minutes saved per report on average. The AI also questioned codes the team had been using out of habit, which made the analysis more consistent. Presented to the international ICASS conference in 2025.

Paul has made a real difference to CHIRP's global reporting programme. It worked from day one, giving us faster, more complete and more consistent insights into complex data sets.

Adam Parnell, Director Maritime, CHIRP
Estate agency · Philippa Sole Ltd

AI's speed, without losing the agency's voice

Who
A boutique estate agency in Sandbanks, where reputation rests on tone, discretion and care.
The problem
The team worried AI would make their writing sound generic, with tell-tale AI phrasing and American spellings.
What we did
Two sessions built around their own business. I researched their market beforehand, showed how to give AI the agency's voice once so everyone starts from the same on-brand base, and wrote property descriptions in their tone live in the room.
The outcome
The team are using it on everyday work, and building their own AI projects instead of starting from scratch each time.

Loved the course, have used it so much already in the last week for things I would not have previously thought about using it for.

One to one · Steve Jones FCMI

From capacity to capability, in a day

Who
MD of Skills for Business Training, coach and author.
What we did
A one-to-one day on his AI toolkit, prompting, back-office automation, a custom GPT “digital twin” and using AI to win clients.
The outcome
Came away able to build a webpage, with several projects on the go, including rewriting his first book for the AI era.

The biggest hit for me was the ability to build a webpage... I learned lots of tips, having now several projects on the go, including rewriting my first book for the AI era. The training clarified a lot for me too, like keeping my knowledge safe... There is no doubt it's been invaluable.

Small business · Rachel Bee Ltd

Came back a year later, and used it the next day

Who
Runs her own business, Rachel Bee Ltd.
What we did
An open workshop in September 2025, shaped around what she'd asked to cover before she arrived. She came back for the veterans' workshop in October 2026.
The outcome
Put it to work on her own business the very next day.

Already followed the prompts and thought they produced some absolutely excellent results. Thank you Paul.

Thirty minutes on where AI could help your team, and what to keep out of it. No pressure either way.

In the field

Real rooms, real work

In their words

The worries people bring, and what they said afterwards

30 delegates have given written feedback since May 2025. Of the 22 who said where they started, 17 were beginners.

Before the session

“I tried to keep away from it.”

After

“I feel I will be able to retain my authenticity and use AI.”

Workshop delegate, 2025

“I'm not technical. Will I cope?”

As a person with lived experience of ADHD, the benefits of AI will help me be more productive and not get overwhelmed when project planning. Paul is a fantastic trainer, using real-life situations. The outcome of the tools on offer had me in tears.

Amy Walton, BCP Council

Really well taught. Paul's engagement with the varying levels of AI knowledge in the group was great. He showed us the power of AI, then an exercise brought together all the Microsoft tools we use at work. A really useful session.

Dave Kilbride, tlmNEXUS Ltd

Eye opening. Clear explanations at a pace that one can absorb.

Workshop delegate, 2026

“We already use AI. What's in it for us?”

Top notch session. I learnt a stack about the tools I was already using, bits I'd missed, and many others I had dismissed. I've already started using Claude for my code and it has made a huge difference.

Jon, Accounting For Neurodiversity

Really insightful course, opening my eyes to further uses and details within AI for the workplace.

Sam Kilgour, tlmNEXUS

I was most interested in seeing how you can use AI not as a single entity but as building blocks to create deeper engagement and results.

Rebecca Brown, Marketing Manager, Philippa Sole Ltd

“Is it safe, and will it fit our work?”

I was cautious about using them more widely due to concerns around security and data protection... The training was engaging and gave me a much better understanding of how AI can be used safely and effectively in a business environment.

Workshop delegate, 2026

The session gave me a firm understanding of how AI can improve my work: turning complex policy into plain English, creating clear posters, and summarising meetings into formal minutes. No techy jargon, just practical results.

Nicholas Harper, Armed Forces Programme Co-ordinator, Dorset Council

This will give you a great overview and is a great way of starting your AI journey. My advice is to bring a piece of work to work on for a real-time AI solution. This will then allow you to get a better understanding of the time saved, as well as how AI works to ensure the information is viable.

Rob Cole, Manager, Defence BattleLab

“I'd strongly recommend him to any organisation looking to apply AI in a smart and practical way.”

Adam Parnell, Director Maritime, CHIRP

“We achieved a lot in a short time... Go for it! No regrets!”

Helen Edwards, Royal Navy veteran

“I spent ages playing with it last night, brain sparking like crazy!”

Bill Oliphant, Royal Naval Association

“Well thought out and well presented. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to learn AI.”

Gavin Stone, Spy Q
